Funded by grants and contributions, the NSPB is an entirely volunteer-run organization. NSPB has solid alliances with Sight Savers, Rotary International, and other significant businesses. The World Health Organization (WHO) collaborated with the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness Week and other non-governmental organizations in an endeavor to end preventable blindness.

Additionally, India was the first nation to apply for a soft credit from the World Bank's International Development Agency in order to control blindness.
