Kerala floods: Death toll mounts to 87; schools, colleges closed in 9 districts
Due to heavy rain in Kerala, holiday has been declared to educational institutions in nine districts in the state. So far, 87 people have lost lives in the state due to heavy rains and floods
Thiruvananthapuram: The death toll in Kerala floods has risen to 87. An orange alert has been issued for six districts and yellow alert in five districts of the state.
An orange alert has been issued in Kannur, Wayanad, Malappuram, Idukki, Ernakulam and Alappuzha. Yellow alert has been issued in Kasaragod, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur and Pathanamthitta.

Meanwhile, holiday has been declared for educational institutions in nine districts in the state. The districts are Ernakulam, Thrissur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur, Malappuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Alappuzha.
