Winter Session Of The Parliament  

The Winter session of the Parliament is ongoing and the discussion on air pollution and climate change expected to be on the floors in the Lok Sabha. The discussion assumes significance as Delhi and its adjoining regions have been battling severe pollution levels in the last few days mainly due to stubble burning by farmers in Haryana and Punjab.

Key bills are expected to be tabled in the Winter Session of the Parliament that begins today. Ahead of the commencement of the Winter Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended an all-party leaders meeting, where he said that the government will seek to work together will all parties in a constructive manner to take up all pending legislative work.

With the Winter Session of the Parliament commencing from November 18, several leaders from the Opposition such as TDP's Jaydev Galla, Congress' Ghulam Nabi Azad, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Satish Mishra of BSP were part of the all-party meeting that was held a day ahead

The winter session of the parliament is likely to begin from November 18 and end in mid-December. A formal decision is expected to be announced next week after the meeting of the Union Cabinet.
