In 2017, Pathikrit Saha made the decision of resigning from his job to pursue a noble initiative. He became a food delivery boy and began providing food and education to young children from underprivileged backgrounds to brighten their futures.

Two heart wrenching incidents in his life prompted Hare Ram to establish an organization to take care for the abandoned children. He discussed the idea with his wife and received full support from her. With the assistance of the then DC Mastram Meena, Narayan Seva Ashram Trust was established. Until last year, Hare Ram had 35 children in his care. There are three boys, and the rest are girls. He has also married off four of the girls in well-off families.

In the year 2017, Pathikrit Saha resigned from his government job to manage his responsibilities as a social worker well. Supported by people’s donations, he supplies notebooks and books to these children. He has helped over 2 dozen children to secure admission in reputable schools.

The District Administration of Gonda has launched a new and unique campaign idea to support the livelihoods of those belonging to underprivileged sections of society. Under the leadership of DM Neha Sharma, the campaign ‘Har Ghar Neki Ki Deewar’ has been launched to donate reusable items to the people in need.

Chandra Mishra never liked the sight of poor people and children begging on the streets. In hopes of making their lives better, he launched a mission called ‘Beggars Corporation’. Under this, he trains poor people in groups and helps them set up their businesses. So far, he has been able to give a better life to almost 14 families.

For the last 25 years, Bhoop Singh Yadav, an SI from Uttar Pradesh, has been running awareness campaigns to inform people about the traffic rules and regulations. He has organized over 1600 camps in schools and other institutions and more than 8 lakh people have attended these sessions.

Varanasi’s Kaushal Kumar Mishra worked in the All India Radio as an announcer for 14 years. However, due to some political upheavals during that time, he lost his job. He was associated with an NGO and found his inspiration in working as an announcer at Godowlia intersection. Today, he has completed 30 years of his selfless service and continues to extend his support to reunite lost worshippers with their family members during festivals.

Amitabh Soni worked in a London-based company after earning a degree in International Business for several years. He could not derive satisfaction from his work and wished to return to India. He finally quit his job in 2014 and came back to India to work on his dream mission. Today, he provides free education to the tribal children of Kekadiya village in Bhopal.

Harsimran Walia does the noble work of feeding the street dogs. She feels contented when dogs approach her wagging their tails. In her years of work, she has faced resistance and challenges, but she remains persistent with her efforts. 

Mehboob Malik is popular as ‘Hero Chai Wala’ in his locality. Due to financial constraints, he could not complete his studies. Today, he runs an NGO where he provides poor children with free education and spends 80 percent of his income from the tea shop on the school expenses.

Due to poor financial conditions of the household, Rajesh Kumar Sharma had to drop out of college. He juggled between odd jobs in Delhi before finally deciding to open a free school for poor children. Today, more than 300 students attend his school.

Jharkhand’s Aditi Gupta did not like the restrictions posed on her during her periods. She wanted to break all the social norms and taboos attached to the topic of menstruation. Aditi started working on a project with her husband and created Menstrupedia Comic. Her comics dealing with various subjects are available in multiple languages all over the world.

Lucknow’s Anshika Kaithwas came out as an inspiration for everyone when she became a liver donor for her elder brother. Her brother was suffering from cirrhosis, and despite being a football player, she did not hesitate for the liver transplantation. Anshika has a 6-month-old daughter and is currently under the recovery period. She intends to continue with football after becoming completely healthy.

An endeavour Asha Rajpurohit began with to fulfil the promise she had given to her father, turned into success after months of dedication. She is only 33 years old and a mother of a 15-year-old boy, who operates the old age home. There are currently 22 senior residents in her facility.

Dattu Aggarwal grew up in a life of poverty. At the tender age of 5, he became a victim of blindness. Despite all the challenges, Dattu Aggarwal studied till post-graduation and then became a lecturer of Political Science. In memory of his mother, he established a residential school for blind girls where he provides free education.
