Parliament Winter Session  

The Winter session of the Parliament is ongoing and the discussion on air pollution and climate change expected to be on the floors in the Lok Sabha. The discussion assumes significance as Delhi and its adjoining regions have been battling severe pollution levels in the last few days mainly due to stubble burning by farmers in Haryana and Punjab.

Key bills are expected to be tabled in the Winter Session of the Parliament that begins today. Ahead of the commencement of the Winter Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended an all-party leaders meeting, where he said that the government will seek to work together will all parties in a constructive manner to take up all pending legislative work.

The winter session of the parliament is likely to begin from November 18 and end in mid-December. A formal decision is expected to be announced next week after the meeting of the Union Cabinet.
 

Ahead of the winter session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, 'I hope members will spend their time in the House for the welfare of the people, not for themselves or their parties. The session is important; many issues of public importance will be taken up. I have faith that all the members of the Parliament will respect this sentiment and move ahead. Our efforts are that discussions are held on all issues'
