Old Age Homes  

Purnima Padmasana is a mother of two daughters. In 2022, she won the title of Mrs India One in a Million. She is from Patna and works as a corporate banker. She is also involved in initiatives related to old age homes and women empowerment.

Arpan Banerjee is a resident of Karimnagar, West Bengal. For the last two decades, he has dedicated his life to the underprivileged people and assists then in orphanages and elderly care homes. He provides essential items such as food, clothing, and blankets to those in need.

An endeavour Asha Rajpurohit began with to fulfil the promise she had given to her father, turned into success after months of dedication. She is only 33 years old and a mother of a 15-year-old boy, who operates the old age home. There are currently 22 senior residents in her facility.

Deb Kumar Malik began his social service campaign under the name ‘Jai Ram Seva Ashram’. He serves the elderly by providing them food and medicines. As of now, he is working in the service of 486 senior citizens.

The 'Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill-2019' was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 11th December. According to the bill, six months imprisonment or fine of 10,000 rs or both will be sentenced to those who intentionally abuse their parents or senior citizens under their care and protection or abandon them. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot introduced the bill in the House. In this, registration has been made mandatory for old age homes and all similar institutions.
