The Kerala Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution proposing to change the state's name from 'Kerala' to 'Keralam' for linguistic alignment.
 

In spite of his opposition to the views of the Kerala Assembly on the issue of CAA, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan read out a paragraph against the CAA in his speech at the Kerala Assembly. However, he did issue a caveat saying he doesn’t agree with the views of the Assembly.

The opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the Left government, the RSS and the BJP are trying to sabotage the Sabarimala pilgrimage. The opposition alleged that the government was using the police force to control the devotees at the famous shrine.
 

Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran said that the UDF created problems when the Kerala Assembly session began because they have not yet recovered from the ‘shameful stand’ that they have taken over the Sabarimala issue.
 

The leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the Kerala chief minister spoke for 45 minutes, which is unusual and also said that this is contrary to Assembly procedures. Pinarayi Vijayan replied that he spoke for 45 minutes because of his health condition.
