India's Economy To Grow 6.4% By 2021: OECD
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on 21st November slightly cut India’s economic growth forecast for 2019 to 5.8% but said it would pick up to 6.2% in 2020 and further to 6.4% in 2021. Paris-based OECD said private investment would bounce back as capacity utilisation rises and the cost of borrowing for the corporate sector declines. According to OECD India has been a growth champion in recent years and has succeeded in taming inflation, the current account deficit, and non-performing loans.

Fixed-Term Employment Approved: Contract Workers Can Now Enjoy Benefits As Regular Workers
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its approval for the introduction of the Industrial Relations Code, 2019 in Parliament. allowing companies to hire workers on a fixed-term contracts of any duration. Two-member tribunal (in place of one member) has been set up for dispute, introducing a concept that some of the important cases will be resolved jointly and the rest by a single member resulting in faster disposal of cases.

Gujarat Government Rescued 134 Child Labourers
During a raid conducted by the labour and employment department of the Gujarat government in the last 6 months, 134 child laborers working in commercial establishments were rescued. From April to September 2019 some 434 raids were conducted in various parts of Gujarat.
