Ankit, who won silver at the Asian Youth Championships earlier this year, will face Thailand’s Atichai Phoemsap for a place in the final. Atichai defeated Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsutsumi in his quarter-final bout.

The Indian will have a chance to avenge his Asian Youth Championships final loss to Atichai in April this year. Ankit was defeated by the Thai in the final in Bangkok.

Two other Indian boxers, Nitu (Women’s Light Fly 48kg) and Bhavesh Kattimani (Men’s fly 52kg) too won their quarter-final bouts.
