BJP MLA from Delhi's Ramgarh Assembly constituency, Gyan Dev Ahuja has made a controversial statement on former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Ahuja, while commenting on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, said that he was not a pandit. He said that Nehru used to do all the work which is forbidden in both Hindu religion and Islam.

While raising questions, he said that how can anyone who disrespects someone's faith be a Pandit.

According to Ahuja, "Jawaharlal Nehru used to eat the meat of both cow and pig. The cow is associated with the faith of the Hindus and in Islam, eating pork is not permitted. But Nehru used to eat both. The person who eats the meat of the living creatures cannot be a scholar. The Congress used the Pandit title in Nehru’s name to lure brahmins.”

This is not the first time Ahuja has given a controversial statement about Jawaharlal Nehru.

Earlier too, he had said that Kashmir problem is the responsibility of former Prime Minister Nehru, which he had given to the country in collaboration with his step-brother Abdullah. Ahuja had said that despite the fact that we are feeding the people of Kashmir like one treats their son-in-law, they shout slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. He had said that he visited Kashmir twice and observed that people are less patriotic and more anti-national.

Ahuja had also said that the time has come to remove Article 370 and Pakistan occupied Kashmir will have to be incorporated into India and create a united India, for which BJP is preparing. He said the country is divided due to the Nehru family, islie Indira Gandhi or Nehru ko swargiya na kehkar narkiya kehta hoon (I doubt their soul rests in heaven; it must be rotting in hell)

Ahuja made headlines during Rakbar Khan case who was killed by the mob in the wake of cow smuggling in Ramgarh in Alwar. He had justified the killing by claiming that the victim was a cow smuggler.
