Smita Sabharwal, a determined individual from Darjeeling, West Bengal, has emerged as a shining example of perseverance and achievement in the realm of civil services. Born to a retired army colonel, Smita's journey towards becoming an IAS officer was not without its hurdles.

Her initial attempt at the UPSC civil services exam ended in disappointment. However, undeterred by this setback, she decided to give it another shot in 2000. To her delight, not only did she pass the exam, but she also secured an exceptional rank of 4. At the young age of 23, Smita found herself among the youngest IAS officers in the country.

Before embarking on her civil services journey, Smita pursued her education at St Ann's and St. Francis in Hyderabad, where she excelled academically, graduating at the top of her class with a degree in business.

Smita's dedication and success have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by her substantial following on social media, boasting over 3.35 lakh Twitter followers.

Throughout her career, Smita has held significant positions in various districts of Telangana, including Warangal, Visakhapatnam, Karimnagar, and Chittoor. Her contributions have been invaluable, earning her accolades and recognition from all quarters.

In January of this year, Smita was entrusted with the crucial role of member secretary of the TS Finance Corporation, marking a significant milestone in her career. Before this, she had served as a secretary in the Telangana Chief Minister's Office, showcasing her versatility and capability in handling diverse responsibilities.
