Sini Shetty is a 22-year-old finance graduate who was crowned Miss India in 2022 and is now all set to represent India in the upcoming Miss World 2024 in Mumbai. This year's Miss World is even more special as the event is taking place in India after 28 years. Participants from 112 countries are competing and the stakes are high. Karan Johar, Indian film director and producer and Megan Young, Miss World 2013 are hosting the pageant.

All eyes will be on Sini tonight, and the hopes of India are tied to her. Let's deep dive and take a look at her journey from a finance student to becoming Miss India 2022 and representing India in Miss World 2024. 

1. Life before pageants 

Sini's family is from Karnakata however, Sini was born and brought up in Mumbai. She graduated from SK Somaiya College of Arts, Science and Commerce in Mumbai with a degree in accounting and finance. She is not just a great model but also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Her family was always supportive of her dreams and had been behind her the whole time.

2. Beauty pageants 

Sini's first step into the limelight was when she participated in the Femina Miss India 2022 and represented the state of Karnataka. She won the pageant and also sub-titles 'Times Miss Body Beautiful' and 'NIFD Miss Talent'. This year she is representing India in the Miss World 2024. 

3. Inspirations in the Industry

Shetty has talked about getting inspiration from former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra numerous times. Sini resonates with Priaynka's quote, "Don’t try to squeeze into a glass slipper. Instead, shatter the glass ceiling,” appreciating the message of challenging stereotypes and breaking barriers. 

4. Social Work

Sini has also been actively involved in social work with her 'Beauty With A Purpose' (BWAP) project and working with Tech India and many NGOs in India. 

All Indians are rooting for Sini to make India proud again and win the crown. The finale of the Miss World 2024 pageant is taking place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on March 9.
