Autorickshaws, often known as three-wheelers or tuk-tuks, are a common mode of transportation in India, carrying millions of passengers every day. These tiny vehicles are popular for their efficiency in congested urban areas and affordability for short-distance travel.

However, seeing an autorickshaw outside of its typical environment is unusual, especially in nations like the United States where they are not widespread.

A social media user named Manohar Singh Rawat recently recorded and published a video of an odd scene: a black and yellow autorickshaw traversing California's streets. Rawat's video, captioned "Auto Rikshaw in California. #artesia," soon gained traction on the platform.

The post's striking contrast between a traditional Indian means of transportation and a Western environment caught viewers' interest, resulting in its viral dissemination.

How do netizens react?

One user remarked, "Much needed public transportation in the US"

While another one commented, "HOW DID I MISS THIS"

"Who brought a tuk-tuk here", a third user joked

"I saw it yesterday on Pioneer Boulevard. I had to look twice," said one Instagram user.

Meanwhile, in an unprecedented move, UK police have declared that tuk-tuks would be utilized in the fight against crime. To prevent criminality, the Gwent Police added a fleet of four tuk-tuks.

Officers and ambassadors will use the tuk-tuks "day and night" to patrol parks, sidewalks, and other public spaces in Newport and Abergavenny, according to Welsh police. The cars' speed has been limited to 55 miles per hour. Police authorities stated that these tuk-tuks will serve as "safe spaces" where crimes may be reported, assistance sought, and crime prevention tips offered.
