New Delhi: Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar on Tuesday campaigned for Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) East Delhi candidate Atishi Marlena. Bhaskar, who has been a vocal critic of BJP, along with Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani, held a bike rally for Atishi in Shastri Park area of east Delhi.

The Veere Di Wedding actress also said that Atishi has proved herself by contributing in the education sector. “She is a politician who does politics on the basis of her work and not name," she added.

However, this is not the first time that Bhaskar campaigned for someone. She has earlier campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar in Begusarai and then for Amra Ram in Rajasthan.

1. Kanhaiya Kumar from CPI

Last months, the actress campaigned for former JNU president and the candidate for CPI party Kanhaiya Kumar. At a rally, she said that the nation needs leaders like him who not only have an inclusive progressive vision but are also educated and committed.

Dalit leader and Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani was also present at the rally in Begusarai. Speaking about Mevani and Kanhaiya, the actress said on Twitter that the two leaders are game changers and rockstar orators.

2. Amra Ram from CPI(M)

Earlier this month, Bhaskar campaigned for CPI(M) candidate from Rajasthan’s Sikar Amra Ram.

The actress took to Twitter to say, “1 of the most inspiring grassroots leaders. A peasant leader he’s relentlessly fought for Farmers issues & rights. Among the most deserving candidates in #LokSabhaElections2019 He’s contesting from Sikar on a ⁦@cpimspeak⁩ ticket. He needs 2 be in Parliament!”

3. Digvijaya Singh from Congress

Bhaskar also campaigned for Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh in Bhopal. She also interacted with youths, along with Singh’s son Jaivardhan Singh.

Recently Bhaskar made headlines after a selfie video of hers went viral. A man was seen saying “Aayega toh Modi hi” while taking a selfie with her at an airport.
Later Bhaskar tweeted, "A guy asks for a selfie @ airport; I oblige ‘coz I don’t discriminate people who want selfies based on their politics. He sneakily shoots a video. Tacky & underhand tactics r trademarks of bhakts. I’m unsurprised. But always glad 2 make bhakts feel like their lives are worthwhile."
