Binoy Vinodini Balakrishnan, accused of raping and cheating a woman, visited Oshiwara Police Station on Monday and told police that he is sick, and requested that the sampling of his blood for DNA testing be postponed.
Mumbai: Kerala CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Binoy Vinodini Balakrishnan failed to provide blood samples for the DNA test in the bar dancer rape case.
Last week, Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police asked Binoy to allow sampling of his blood. On July 8, Binoy agreed to sampling of his blood for DNA testing.
Binoy reached Oshiwara Police station on Monday and told the police that he is sick and requested that the sampling of his blood for DNA testing be postponed.
The investigating official summoned him after waiting for nearly 30 minutes at the station.
On July 3, the Mumbai Dindoshi sessions court granted anticipatory bail to rape accused Binoy. The court had granted Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's oldest son Binoy bail under strict conditions including, presenting himself before police officers every week for a month.
The accused was also required to pay a security deposit of Rs 25,000. He should not try to influence any witness, the court remarked.
The alleged rape came to light on June 13, when a 33-year-old former bar dancer, filed a complaint stating Binoy had raped her on the fake promise of marrying her. Her complaint also stated that Binoy had been sexually assaulting her for over 10 years (2008-2018) and that she has an 8-year-old child of whom Binoy is the father.
