He may be known for his on-screen villainous roles but Danny Trejo is a hero in real life as the actor recently saved a baby boy who was stuck in an overturned car.

ABC7 reported that the "Machete" star rushed to the spot of an accident between two cars that collided with each other, which resulted in one of the vehicles getting overturned.

The incident happened on Wednesday in the area of Hubbard Street and Jackman Avenue here.

Trejo and another bystander rushed to the aid of the young boy who was stuck in the overturned car because of the seat belt.

The 75-year-old actor said he tried crawling in through a broken window but could not get the seat belt unhooked.

The bystander, who was later identified as Monica Jackson, was able to unhook the boy's seat belt after which Trejo pulled him out.

As firefighters were trying to get the boy's grandmother out of the car, Trejo distracted the boy.

"He was panicked. I said, 'OK we have to use our superpowers'. So he screamed 'superpowers' and we started yelling 'superpowers'. I said do this, with the muscles. He said 'muscles'," the actor told ABC7

"We got kind of a bond. I kept facing him away from the accident," he added.

The The Los Angeles Fire Department said three people were transported to a hospital, but there were no life-threatening injuries.
