One of the longest-running television shows in Indian television history, 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', has been a mainstay for viewers since its premiere in 2009. Despite enduring fluctuations in TRP ratings and facing occasional trolling, the show has managed to maintain a loyal fanbase and consistently ranks among the top five television programs.

Producer Rajan Shahi, who has been at the helm of the show for the past 15 years, recently addressed rumors of its impending shutdown during the Shahi Iftaar Party, which also celebrated the success of his other show, 'Anupamaa'. Inviting performers from various television shows including 'Anupamaa', 'Aai Kuthe Kay Karte', 'Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si', 'Woh Toh Hai Albela', and of course, 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', Shahi used the occasion to speak to the media.

During the event, Shahi revealed that he had received messages warning him to discontinue 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' on multiple occasions. However, he noted an interesting trend - every time the show received such a warning, its viewership actually increased. This indicated to Shahi that despite any doubts or criticisms, the audience remained deeply invested in the show and wanted it to continue.

Since its inception, 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' has consistently performed well on BARC rating lists, maintaining its position as a top-rated show. Airing on StarPlus and Hotstar every day at 9:30 p.m. from Monday to Sunday, the show has become a staple in the lives of many viewers.
