Paltan features Jackie Shroff, Gurmeet Choudhary, Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood among others. Paltan releases on September 7. The movie is set in 1967 when Indian soldiers had to protect Nathula Pass in Sikkim from China.

A few noteworthy points from JP Dutta's Paltan:

1) A loud Sardar
In Border, we had Sunny Deol who is always screaming in the movie and in Paltan we have Harshvardhan Rane with the same voltage.

2) Chinese soldiers speaking 'shudh' Hindi
It is weird to see some of the actors cast as Chinese soldiers speaking in fluent Hindi (with adequate grammar), sometimes just as good as Arjun Rampal or the other Bollywood actors.

3) Same old WAGs ka 'Rona Dhona'
Every JP Dutta war movie has soldiers getting married + Suhag Raat scene or a boyfriend leaving for war and with the girl seeing him off.
This movie has Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, Deepika Kakar and Monica Gill and after watching the trailer one can say that they will only play the stereotypical role of the spouse who is left behind praying and crying for their lovers.

4) Heavy (Nationalist) dialogue:
In the trailer, we see hard-hitting dialogues being delivered by the lead actors that will rekindle the patriotism in us just like Border did back in 1997.

5)  Maa/Dharti Maa:
In both Border and Paltan, the lead actors are mouthing the 'Dharti Maa' dialogues. In Border, the entire movie has many dialogues which talk about loving your 'Dharti' and call it 'Maa'.
