The incident that led to Akshay Kumar's wife's arrest

At 57, Akshay Kumar has been involved in several controversies. One such controversy arose in 2009, which even led to the police searching for him.

The incident took place during Lakme Fashion Week. Akshay Kumar was doing a ramp walk at the event. During this, he had his wife Twinkle Khanna unbutton his jeans.

Akshay told Twinkle that he had her unbutton his jeans as per the script's demand. The crowd present there cheered them on, but later it became a noose around their necks.

A social worker filed a complaint against Akshay, Twinkle Khanna, and the event management firm's secretary, Abigail Rosa, at the Vakola police station in Mumbai on May 30, 2009.

In her complaint, the social worker accused Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna of spreading obscenity. Abigail was accused of writing the script for this obscene act.

In 'Koffee With Karan 5', Twinkle shared that when she went to Delhi with Akshay to receive his Padma Shri, her mother Dimple told her over the phone that police is after them.

According to Twinkle, the police arrested her and she was released on bail on a bond of Rs 500. While the lawyer somehow managed to get a clean chit and saved Akshay Kumar.

After the controversy escalated, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna apologized to the public. Twinkle has mentioned this incident in her book 'Mrs. Funnybones'.
