New Delhi: Actor Randeep Hooda is an avid horse-rider and his love for horses is not a secret. Earlier, the actor had spoken about being a part of the Regional Equestrian League that would take place in Mahalaxmi Racecourse after almost three decades.

Hooda took to social media to share that he won the silver medal at the National Equestrian Championship (NEC) and thanked his horse 'Dreamgirl' as well as the horse's groomsmen and his teammates from the Indian Army from RVC (Remount and Veterinary Corps) and ASC (Indian Army Service Corps)for the win.

Though he did throw some shade at his Dhaka co-stars for keeping him away from practicing. The actor will be seen next in Dhaka, directed by Sam Hargrave that also stars Chris Hemsworth, David Harbour and Manoj Bajpayee.

Hooda's win becomes sweeter considering that he was certain he would have to withdraw his participation courtesy an injury earlier this month. He had ended up getting injured during the qualifying rounds and it seemed unlikely that he would be able to participate.

He had said, "The club was keen that I participate. As a rule, if you fall off the horse, you are disqualified. [Unfortunately], during the race, my horse stopped mid-way. In my bid to hold on to it, I had to exert a lot of pressure on my ankle, and ended up with a sprain.”  Stating that he has been on painkillers, Hooda adds, “The next one is on 25th February, so I still have a chance. For now, I am taking ample rest.” Looks like the resting finally paid off!
