YES! Paris is one of the cities under consideration for the wedding of the year — between Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh! The love for Paris for people all over is well known and this may just be the wedding destination of the couple. After all Frank Sinatra and Maurice Chevalier sang the song, 'I Love Paris', in the film Can-Can in 1960 and the song inspired the movie, Paris When It Sizzles (1964).

Paris is the city of love, romance and passion and Ranveer loved the city when they were shooting for Aditya Chopra’s Befikre there. He had checked out many of the city’s hotspots and even watched Sultan at a local theatre — so what better than to get married to the woman of his dreams in Paris!

Says a source from the film industry, “Ranveer loves Paris and is a big fan of the city while Deepika has mentioned that one of her favorite holiday spots is the French Riviera, as she loves beaches. A couple of years ago, after an international awards event in Spain, Ranveer had flown to Paris for the shoot of Befikre and Deepika later joined him there for a secret rendezvous.

"There were rumours of a fight between the couple but their romantic holiday soon scotched them. While there has been speculation that the Deepika-Ranveer wedding may take place this year and the destinations have varied from Italy to Mumbai, both are keen to have a destination wedding as it will give them some privacy and they want it to be a private affair much like Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding.

"Paris is not just the city for romance but also a perfect getaway from the Indian media and the couple might zoom off to the southern beaches for a quick honeymoon after their wedding."

Once they are back, they may host a reception in Mumbai for their friends and colleagues, including Ranveer’s mentor Aditya Chopra and his wife Rani Mukerji, his close buddy Arjun Kapoor and Deepika’s mentor Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan (who gave her a break in Om Shanti Om), apart from the couple’s family and close friends, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali on whose sets the couple met and fell in love, and Anil Kapoor and his family, to whom Ranveer is related to. One more reception will be held in Bengaluru, for Deepika’s family who lives there.

The source adds that while various dates have been speculated, the final one is yet to be set. “The families are looking for an auspicious date in November and finding one is a problem. While some wedding dates are 4th, 10th, 11th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 25th, others are 1st, 7th (Diwali – Wednesday), 8th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, 25th, 26th, and 28th.  So finding the right one is causing confusion.

"Most probably the wedding date will be fixed for 18, 19 or 25 November. Also if they get married at a foreign destination, even the mahurat timings will change so everything has to be taken into consideration. The couple is also looking for a break in their busy calendars at that time. They have asked their close ones to save the dates already.”

Our source assures us, “While the date and the venue are being finalised, one thing is for sure — Ranveer and Deepika are definitely getting married by the end of this year though both parties have maintained a studied silence on it.

"The engagement or roka ceremony is said to have already taken place between the Padukones and Bhavnani’s (Ranveer’s family) earlier in January this year in Sri Lanka, where both families went on a holiday.

"The two actors have asked their respective teams to make sure that their date diary is clear during that time. While Deepika is in talks with various filmmakers, she is yet to sign a film and speculation is rife that she wants some time to prepare for her wedding this year.

"Ranveer would have completed Rohit Shetty’s Simmba by then. Buzz is that designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who had designed Rani and Anushka’s wedding outfits, will design Deepika’s trousseau too.”
