Boney Kapoor and his family faced many problems in the last few months, and Sridevi's death was a definite shocker because no one saw it coming as she had the most memorable moments just before her death.

Shooting for the movie Dhadak, starring Janhvi Kapoor, had commenced much before Sridevi's death. However, the brave and diligent Janhvi returned to the sets in less than a month and proved that she is an absolute professional.

In an interview with SpotboyE, Boney opened up, and for the first time, he also shared his thoughts on the tragic event in his life and how his family came together at this testing time.

Boney spoke about Janhvi’s instincts, even when Sridevi was hesitant about her daughter joining the industry. He said, “The good thing about her is she is not in awe of you. Janhvi knows what she wants to do and what she doesn’t want to do. Everything will be discussed at home, but the final decision will be hers."

Boney Kapoor, as a father, is proud of Janhvi's debut in the film Dhadak. He said, “That kind of chemistry between the two newcomers is always accepted if the content is good, and what better than Sairat? Plus, Karan Johar (producer) and Shashank Khaitan adapted it very well for the Asian diaspora. The film released on a wide scale, the momentum had picked up from the first promo itself for various reasons- it's a Dharma product, Shashank had given two hits prior to this (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania), the lead pair was fresh, and then there was an element of how Sridevi and my daughter look like and how she performs. And, I am sure the audiences are not disappointed. The collections are speaking for themselves. I have been getting clippings on my phone of people dancing in theatres to Zingaat. It's a wonderful feeling.”
