Playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya ruled Bollywood with his melodious voice even till a few years ago. But, of late, Abhijeet has been controversy's child and has often been slammed by netizens for commenting on various political issues or public figures.

Abhijeet was recently in news for a case that was filed against him allegedly harassing a woman during a telephonic conversation. Not just that, Abhijeet was previously under the scanner for reportedly abusing a female journalist as he voiced his support for actor Salman Khan for the hit-and-run case that the actor was allegedly involved in.

At the recent event of India Today Safaigiri Summit and Awards 2018, while talking to the media, the singer insulted Shah Rukh Khan and went on to say that he had made him a superstar and now when he has stopped singing for SRK, the latter has come down to songs like Lungi Dance.

"I made superstars with my voice. Till the time I sang for Shah Rukh Khan, he was a rock star. When I stopped singing for him - and I stopped singing for him - he came down to Lungi Dance," said the singer.

In the past, Abhijeet has sung many popular songs for Shah Rukh. Songs like Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon, Chand Tare Tod, and Badi Mushkil Hai Khoya Mera Dil Hai to name a few, which were chartbuster.

Speaking of the bitterness between Shah Rukh and him, Abhijeet said, "It was a very small reason that I stopped singing for Shah Rukh. In Main Hoon Na, they showed everyone from a spot boy to everyone else, but the singers. The same thing happened with Om Shanti Om. Stars sang Dhoom Tana. It was my voice. But it wasn't shown anywhere."

"The self-respect was hurt. Why should I ask them to add my name? The problem is I don't lack anything. So why should I ask for this?"

While speaking to Times Of India, the singer had said, "Folks still fondly remember Chalte Chalte, Yes Boss and Main Hoon Na songs. It is these songs that have immortalised Shah Rukh. I will never sing for him again."

When asked if he will ever patch up with the superstar, he had said, "Sorry bol do! When you can make up with Farah Khan, whose husband tweeted rubbish about you, then there should be no problem with a simple man like me."

Now, we have to wait and watch if Shah Rukh reacts to his explosive statements or not.
