Janmashtami, celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna, was widely celebrated across the country yesterday. The popular ritual of ‘Dahi Handi’, celebrated on the second day of Janmashtami, seemed to be a favourite among Bollywood celebs. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna and his friends used to form human pyramids to break pots hung from the ceilings of houses in order to steal curd and butter in Vrindavan. Keeping up with tradition, youngsters today also form human pyramids to break the dahi handis. Actor Shah Rukh Khan and his family, debutante Aayush Sharma, actor Jacky Bhagnani and Varun Dhawan went all out to get their hands on the handis.
