From the 1980s to the 2000s, the small screen business produced several epic comedy serials that left an indelible impact on the minds of the spectators, even making us die hard laughing with anticipation for the next developments.

1. Shriman Shrimati:
Shriman Shrimati, another Hindi sitcom, was shown in 1995. The drama revolved around two neighborhood families, with Keshav Kulkarni, married to Kokila, being lured by his neighbor Prema Shalini. On the other hand, Prema's husband, Dilruba, was enticed by Kokila, Keshav's wife. Both spouses tried every imaginable way to flirt with each other's wives, but were ultimately unsuccessful.

2. Modern Family:
Talk about families with problems, and this one should be near the top of the list. An elderly father with his much younger wife, his married daughter with three children and her husband, and his homosexual son with his husband and their adopted daughter—all put together to form a laugh riot and a modern family.

3. Hum Paanch:
The 1995 sitcom told the story of Anand Mathur, a middle-class laborer. Mathur was often in difficulty due to his five daughters: Meenakshi, Radhika, Sweety, Kajol, and Chhoti.

4. Dekh Bhai Dekh:
Dekh Bhai Dekh premiered in 1993 on Doordarshan Metro. The plot revolved around three generations of the Diwaan family, who lived in their ancestral bungalow and struggled with relationships, business, parents, and in-laws. 

5. Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai:
The 2005 Star One sitcom was named the best TRP gainer and most engaging show by viewers. The plot revolved around the Sarabhai family, who were wealthy and urban. The story highlighted the never-ending conflicts between the mother and her daughter-in-law.
