Hamilton: Rohit Sharma sealed India’s series win over New Zealand with a last-ball six in the Super Over in the third T20I in Hamilton on Wednesday (January 29).

In the five-T20I series, India hold an unassailable 3-0 lead. With 18 required to win in the Super Over, Rohit clinched the game with consecutive sixes off Tim Southee. India needed 10 off the final two balls.

Earlier, the actual match had ended in a tie with Mohammed Shami (2/32) defending nine runs in the final over. The hosts needed two off the final four balls but Shami was brilliant and gave just one run and took a wicket (Ross Taylor off the final ball). It was a superb comeback by Shami after being hit for a six by Taylor off the first ball in the final over.
