Mumbai: Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend and frequent co-star Katrina Kaif has revealed that she doesn’t receive any special treatment from the superstar, who behaves with her in just the same way he talks to others. While their on-screen chemistry is electrifying, the off-screen one is not that exciting if Katrina Kaif is to be believed.

During an interaction with My Nation ahead of the release of their latest film Bharat, Katrina said, “After Tiger Zinda Hai I met Salman again o the sets of Bharat. He was shooting at Yash Raj Studios on that day. As soon as I entered the set, he looked at me and said Katrina what’s up in his typical manner. There was no excitement in his voice like Oh! You are doing the film! Wow! I know people speculate a lot about us but in reality Salman behaves with me in just the same way he talks to you or any other person. Nothing more than that.”

Recently, at a promotional event of the movie, Salman Khan thanked Priyanka Chopra for quitting the film, after which Katrina came on board. Does that mean Bhaijaan is happier with Katrina as a co-star? The actress answered, “Nothing like that. Actually Priyanka Chopra could not do the film at that time, it was not possible for her. Also, Ali (Abbas Zafar) has done quite a few films with me and we have developed a comfort level with each other. That’s why he offered me the role after Priyanka quit. Salman did not offer any opinion regarding this, he just agreed to the director’s decision (of casting me).”

When quizzed why Salman Khan feels that she deserves the National Award for her performance in Bharat, Katrina said she thinks he was just joking. “You know Salman, how he talks, he keeps joking. How can someone predict whether I will win the National Award or not? He was just kidding. But at the same time, this is also true that he really liked me performance in the film and he has said that to me several times,” said the actress adding, “At the moment my only concern is whether the audience will like me in the film or not because I have worked really hard for the role. I always try to do something new so that the audience do not find me boring. I have spent so many years in this industry. Now my only target is to create a place for myself in the audience’s hearts. Well, that is what every actor wants, isn’t it?”

Bharat directed by Ali Abbas Zafar hits theatres on June 5. The film also stars Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
