PV Sindhu recently made India proud by becoming the first Badminton player to win a gold medal at the World Championship. She recently expressed her wish, and said if ever a biopic is made she would like Deepika Padukone to play her on-screen.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, 24-year-old PV Sindhu said, "Would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character. She had played the game and is a good actor too. But then, the makers would take the final decision."

Actor Sonu Sood recently bagged the rights to make a biopic on PV Sindhu. The reports suggested that Akshay Kumar might be playing the role of Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand. The film is expected to roll out by the end of 2019.

Talking about the same, Sindhu said, "Yes, he told me. But I could only speak to him for a few minutes." When she was asked about her contribution to the film, she said, "I've given everything to Sonu Sood and he's looking after the film quite well. They're currently working on the film. I'm there if required, however, I've already provided them with everything. Plus, for me, first priority has always been badminton; I'm mostly caught up with my practice and tournaments."

Deepika herself was a professional badminton player and her father Prakash Padukone, is a former international badminton champion.  Earlier, the Piku actress had confessed that she would love to portray her father, Prakash Padukone, in a biopic on his life.
