Uttar Pradesh women hit eve-teaser with slippers; video goes viral

Jalaun (Uttar Pradesh): Tired of avoiding a man teasing women going for work in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun gram panchayat, daily wage labourers hit back at the man with slippers. The women were working under MGNREGS (Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme). The women tried to avoid the man for some days. But when he did not stop and repeated his actions, they gathered and started beating him up with slippers. The man teasing women has been identified as Dharmendra Yadav of Lahar Kanar. The villagers recorded the incident and shared it on social media. They have not filed a police complaint but the video is going viral. Kunthed Police officer Deepak Mishra said action will be taken against the accused as soon as the complaint is filed.
