Vellore: Mother, boyfriend kill six-year-old for being 'hindrance'

Vellore: A woman and her boyfriend killed a six-year-old, who was born to her marriage, because the child was being a hindrance to their relationship.

Kavita and her husband were married for seven years and had a six year-old child, Tarun. The couple developed differences of opinion and began living separately.

Kavita got into a relationship with another man named Thyagarajan, after being separated from her husband.

Thyagarajan and Kavita began to live together and found the six-year-old to be a hindrance to their relationship.

The couple hatched a plan to kill the boy and drowned him before taking him to a nearby village to bury him.

When Kavita’s mother questioned her about the child, Kavita confessed to killing and burying him.

Angry villagers then approached the police. Thyagarajan is currently absconding.
