Kurnool: TDP’s Lok Sabha candidate P Thikka Reddy and an assistant sub inspector (ASI) Venugopal suffered bullet injuries when the former was campaigning in Mantralayam in Kurnool district. Both are  being treated at the Kurnool government hospital. The clash between the YSRCP and TDP members resulted in a fight that ended in shooting. Reddy tried to hoist the TDP flag in Mantralayam, where the YSRCP has a stronghold. This led to a fight between the sitting MLA Balanagi Reddy’s wife Jayamma, her son Pradeep Reddy and other YSRCP members. Reddy suffered bullet injuries to his left leg while Venugopal sustained injuries to his right leg. As there were heated arguments, Reddy's gunman fired two bullets in the air. This led to tension and Reddy and ASI were injured in the firing. However, so far it is not known who fired at Reddy and the ASI.
