Ambur: A seven-year-old girl fell off an auto-rickshaw she was traveling to school in and died after suffering head injuries.

Distraught family members staged a protest alleging that the Ambur municipal administration and the Cauvery Joint Drinking Water Pipeline were the reason behind the child’s death.

It is alleged that seven-year-old Divyadarshini was asked to sit beside the driver in the auto-rickshaw. The rickshaw went on roads that were dug up for water work and she fell off the vehicle. Divyadarshini allegedly suffered head injuries and died on the way to hospital.

However, the municipal administration blamed the Cauvery Joint Drinking Water Pipeline for the mishap alleging that it was them who dug up the roads.
