Tamil Nadu: Ramanathapuram fishermen return home after spending months in Jaffna prison

Ramanathapuram: On January 11, nine Rameshwaram fishermen, including two students, were imprisoned in Jaffna after Sri Lankan navy arrested them. The fishermen, on Tuesday (May 21) were deported after being released on May 3 based on an order by the Kayts court, Sri Lanka.

They were accompanied to the Ramanathapuram Collectorate by the fisheries department officials led by the deputy director of fisheries E Kathavarayan. On the other side, collector K Veera Raghava Rao received the fishermen and presented them with shawls.
