A forest fire near Periyakulam area in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai has destroyed several rare trees and medicinal herbs. The locals demand action from Forest officials.
Madurai: Fire engulfed the forest area of Chinnur and Periyur near Periyakulam area of Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
The forest fire has reduced several rare plants to ash. Rare trees and several medicinal herbs also had to bear the brunt of the fire.
Locals demand swift action from the forest department.
