Rameswaram: These villagers in Rameswaram fetch water from a small puddle for their daily needs and have to wait for hours before they can fill their pots.

Huddled over a patch of ground water sources, and waiting well after the sun has set, these villagers have no other source of water. They even hold fire torches in order to fill the pots after sunset, suggesting that it’s not only water scarcity but also lack of electricity that they face.

The district collecter Veeraraghava Rao has assured that at least one tanker of water will be made available for these villagers.
