It has been years since Karanveer was diagnosed with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). However, his father's determination to make him stand on his own feet again has resulted in a possible cure for the condition. In Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) muscle weakness usually begins around the age of four in boys. It first occurs in the thighs and pelvis followed by the arms. They usually are unable to walk by the age of 12 and most of them do not live beyond 20 years of age. Karanveer’s father, Raghuveer Anand instituted a trust which supported a research laboratory. After seven years of hard work and determination, the lab has developed molecules to treat Duchene Muscular Dystrophy.
