Bengaluru: With the Election Commission (EC) announcing the poll dates, the BJP has begun its preparation in the right earnest.
On March 13 morning, Karnataka BJP president BS Yeddyurappa addressed the media at a private hotel in Bengaluru. He was flanked by state vice-president Govind Karjola, RS member Rajeev Chandrasekhar, election in-charge R Ashoka and a host of other leaders.
Taking pride in the administration that the PM has given in the last five years, Yeddyurappa said that Modi had succeeded in giving a corruption-free government, and globalising the issue of terror, thereby garnering the attention of all nations in the fight against terror.
Taking a jibe at the coalition government in the state, Yeddyurappa criticised chief minister HD Kumaraswamy for not fulfilling the loan-waiver promise.
R Ashoka, who has been tasked with the issue of overseeing the preparations exuded confidence. Last time, the BJP had won 17 seats. This time, the target is 22.
Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrasekhar, on his part, criticised the Mahagathbandhan saying they had nothing in common, except for the hatred against Modi.
The entry of Priyanka Gandhi into national politics has raised several speculations. But, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, on this part, allayed all fears and said it would have no bearing whatsoever.
