Gajendragad village accountant, Shabir, declared three elderly people as dead and even issued death certificates. The victims suffered as they did not receive their retired pension for three months.
Gadag: A village accountant has issued death certificates to three elderly people who are still alive and kicking in Gajendragad village. The issue came to the victims' notice after they failed to receive retirement pension from the government.
The accountant has been identified as Shabir. When questioned about the incident, Shabir refused to speak about the chaos he created and said that his lawyer would answer all the questions.
A complaint has been filed with Gurusiddaiah, Gadag's Gajendragad tehsildar who is looking into the issue.
