Dharwad building collapse: Police arrest 5, suspend 4 officials as death toll rises to 15

Dharwad: The Dharwad building collapse has resulted in the death of 15 people so far. 68 people have been rescued. The Dharwad Suburban Police have arrested five persons in this regard. Among the arrested are, Basavaraja Nigadi and Gangappa Shintre, who have been admitted to KIMS hospital in Hubballi as they complained of health issues. Ravi Basad, Mahabaleshwar and Vivek Pawar have been taken into custody following a verdict by the JMFC court of Dharwad.

Five days after the incident, rescue operations are still on. The administration has suspended four officers including Dharwad Palike commissioner Mukund Joshi and assistant commissioner Santhosh Ani Shettar.
