Despite a large number of victims approaching various agencies after the anti-Sikh riots of 1984, a large number of crimes of murders, rioting, looting and arson remained unpunished and untraced. The basic reason for this was because of the lack of interest shown by police and authorities. All fingers point to the Congress.

The BJP has slammed the Congress for the anti-Sikh riots of 1984, while adding that the grand old party has always backed the rioters.

The statements come in the wake of the Modi government telling the Supreme Court that it had accepted the Justice Dhingra Committee report which was probing 186 cases in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in which 3,300 persons were killed.
