Coimbatore: Santhosh Kumar, who is under judicial custody for sexual assaulting and murdering a seven-year-old girl at Kasthurinaickenpudur, Tamil Nadu, was beaten up by the angry mob when he was brought to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Thursday.
The 32-year-old man was brought under tight security for a potency test based on the court’s direction. The police intervened and moved Kumar to the lab for the test. Later, when he was being taken back after the test, the mob brutally thrashed him.
According to sources, when the policemen tried to stop them, one of the attackers shouted that they will murder him and asked the onlookers to join them.
The minor girl was missing from her house on March 25 and on the next day, her body was recovered.
