Chennai: Passengers of Chennai Metro on Monday had a tough time as the Metro rail staff, in a sudden move, went on strike, and technical glitches halted services.

The employees of the Chennai Metro Rail Limited stopped work and staged a strike to protest the privatisation of a part of operations and the dismissal of 8 employees.

During the protest, passengers complained that they were not given tickets at few stations and information like the upcoming station was not announced or displayed.

However, after the protesters were called for talks with the labour commissioner on Tuesday, the staff resumed work.
