Kamal Haasan tells his followers Abhinandan Varthaman has returned — to thunderous applause

Chennai: Makkal Needhi Maiam party president Kamal Haasan was addressing the audience at Guru Nanak College cultural event -Griffin 2K19 as the chief guest. He started his speech with the announcement that IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman had crossed the border and had entered the Indian soil. The audience was overwhelmed by this announcement and there was a thunderous applause, as they shouted slogans welcoming the nation's hero. Abhinandan was captured by the Pakistani authorities following an air strike on February 27. Kamal Haasan expressed his happiness and started his speech with a smile stating that 'Abhinandan is back'.
