Chennai: A four-year-old child was found dead in her bathroom on Thursday evening in Chennai’s Thirumullaivoyal, Tamil Nadu. But what was horrific was that the child’s body was stuffed inside a plastic rice bag and dumped inside a bucket of water.
Based on preliminary investigation, the police suspect that the child was sexually assaulted before the murder.
The incident came to light when her mother had returned home after dropping her son to tuition. She came home to find her daughter missing. Upon frantically searching for her, they discovered the bag in the bathroom.
A 60-year-old neighbour who is also an Army veteran has been detained in connection with the crime as he was the last person to have spotted the child.
