Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government’s endowment department, along with Durga Temple pundits, performed ‘Varuna Yagam’ on Thursday (June 20) at Vijayawada’s Kanaka Durga Ghat, praying for rain. The Yagam will continue till June 24. Around 40 vedic students also took part in the Yagam. Andhra Pradesh endowment minister Velampalli Srinivas was also present. Goddess Durga Temple executive officer Koteswaramma IRS also performed the Yagam. The temperature in Andhra Pradesh was constantly above 40 degree Celsius.
