Sonepat: As Arpinder Singh returned home after winning gold in the triple jump event at the Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia, a festive mood prevailed at his house in Sonepat.
It is after 48 years that an Indian athlete got gold in this category. According to Arpinder, the sports policy of Haryana is beneficial and he practised in Sonepat for four years.
Arpinder’s relatives treated him with sweets upon arrival. His sister said Arpinder has not only made family proud, but also the nation.
