Traders in Delhi welcome Budget 2019-20: Tax reliefs top reason for satisfaction

A trader, Chandni Chowk Traders’ Association president Sanjay Bhargava, in Chandni Chowk heaped praises on the ‘debutant’ Piyush Goyal, saying the interim finance minister’s first presentation of the Budget proposals has been remarkable. The trader covered not only his own field while appreciating Goyal’s speech but dealt with the relief measures announced for farmers as well.

Bharat Ahuja, president Delhi Electrical Traders Association, said that the Narendra Modi government had fulfilled long-standing demands of the business class to a great extent. He mentioned the measure on TDS as a relief to the elderly and added that the heightening of the ceiling of the tax slabs would make the traders very happy.

Sanjeev Kumar Jain, another trader, said appreciated the reforms in GST. He wanted some kind of an insurance for traders, which may be handed over to a taxpayer when he turns a senior citizen.

Another trader Atul Kapoor welcomed the Budget, appreciating the tax rebate and exemptions, as well as the special measures for the MSME section.
