Chennai: Actor-politician Rajinikanth on Tuesday said, “The results of the Assembly election clearly show that BJP is losing its influence.” Earlier, Rajinikanth had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was evidently more powerful than the opposition, as formations like mahagathbandhan comprising many parties were taking shape to defeat the BJP. When a reporter asked Rajinikanth’s opinion about Modi’s loss despite campaigning in the five states, he said, “This is definitely a setback. There is no doubt about that. And, it clearly shows that BJP is losing its influence on people.” Modi has substantially cut short the number of rallies he normally addresses during election campaigns.
