Kerala floods: A doctor, nurse and a lab technician will be at service at these mobile medical clinics
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister KK Shylaja inaugurated new mobile medical clinics to provide medical assistance to remote areas in flood-affected areas. The minister said that the clinic would be available to all the affected districts.
Two vehicles are used for mobile medical clinics. The mobile medical clinic will consist of a doctor, nurse and a lab technician. This mobile medical clinic will detect the diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya and Leptospirosis.
With the help of the internet, the test results of the patients will be available on mobile phones. And if the patient needs better care, then a message will be transferred to the nearest government hospital.
The mobile clinic is set up with the help of National Health Mission and State TB Cell. This mobile clinic can reach many areas including isolated parts of the State. It is therefore possible to monitor and treat infectious diseases. Along with this clinical check-up, medicines to prevent Leptospirosis will also be distributed among people.
Mobile medical clinics will be available in areas where the health department is not available - coastal areas, forests areas and other areas where migrant workers reside. A nodal officer will be appointed for seven districts, two nodal officers for 14 districts.
