Independence Day in Kashmir: When Kashmiris waved tricolour

Aug 15, 2018, 2:37 PM IST

This is a video of an aam Kashmiri man, who is decorating parts of Srinagar with the Indian tricolour, in the dark. In the video, he is heard saying that he is doing so defying several threats and he can even be assassinated by hardliners for this patriotic act, which they will perceive as 'betrayal'. The man who goes by the pseudonym of Ibne Sena on Twitter, told MyNation, requesting anonymity, "It took me four hours to hoist four flags on different places on my own land. Sometimes I wonder how easily people hoist the Pakistani flag here unafraid, while we have to cover our faces to hoist our own flag"

Ibne Sena was an Islamic reformer. He was a devout Muslim and sought to reconcile rational philosophy with Islamic theology. In spite of being a believer in God, he used logic and reason instead of fanaticism. His interpretation of Quran was more liberal where he viewed Prophet as an "inspired philosopher".
